Our approach

How we verify fares

By the Route & Room editorial team · Last reviewed

Public guides show typical and historical fares, not live quotes. Here is what we check, what members see, and what every fare can and cannot promise.

What we look at

We monitor round-trip fares from UK regional airports across the routes we cover. We compare each fare with what is normal for that route and season, so an unusually low price stands out for the right reason.

How we judge a fare

A low fare is not automatically a good trip. We look at the journey as a whole and reject itineraries with unworkable connections, transfers or arrival times.

What we publish

Only fares that pass our checks reach members. A verified fare is a snapshot: airline prices change continuously, seats sell out and a fare can disappear between our check and your booking. Always confirm the final price with the airline or agent before you pay.

Public guides vs live fares

Public destination guides show typical and historical fares. They do not show live availability, exact travel dates or booking links. Members see the current fares we have checked.

What we cannot guarantee

We cannot guarantee that a fare is still available when you look, that an airline will honour a price shown by a third party, or that a hotel or activity will have space. We show when a fare was last checked, so you can judge how current it is.

Common questions

Are the fares in public guides live?

No. Public guides show typical and historical fares. Live fares, dates and booking links are member-only.

How current is a fare?

Every live fare we publish for members is a snapshot from the last time we checked it. Prices and availability can change at any time.

Why can the price differ when I book?

Airlines and agents update prices continuously. The price shown at booking is the one that applies; confirm it before paying.

What if I spot a fare that looks wrong?

Email [email protected] with the route and date. We review corrections and update the page when needed.
